What we keep, and what we don’t.
We collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and we’ll always tell you plainly what happens to it. Here’s the whole picture.
The short version
- We collect what we need to send your order, answer you, and (if you ask) email you.
- We never sell your personal information to anyone.
- You can ask to see, correct, or delete your data any time.
01 Who’s responsible for your data
The Imperfectionist LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) is responsible for the personal information collected through imperfectionist.beauty. For questions or requests about your data, email hello@imperfectionist.beauty — a real person reads it.
02 What we collect, and why
We only collect what we actually use:
- When you order: your name, email, shipping and billing address, and what you bought — so we can make and send your order and keep a record of it.
- When you pay: your payment is handled by our checkout and payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you sign up for our letters: your email, and your first name if you give it — so we can write to you.
- When you contact us: whatever you choose to tell us in your message.
- When you use the site: basic, mostly anonymous analytics (pages visited, rough location, device type) so we can see what’s working and fix what isn’t.
03 The shade quiz
Our Find Your Shade quiz asks a few light questions about how you move through the world, and if you choose to see your result by email, we save your answers together with your email address.
We do this for two reasons only: to show you the shade that fits, and — if you opted in — to email you. We do not use your quiz answers to guess health conditions, and we don’t use them to target or profile you. If you’d like your quiz answers deleted, just email us and we’ll remove them.
04 Cookies & analytics
Like most sites, ours uses small files called cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, and understand general traffic patterns. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the essential ones just keep the shop functioning.
Our analytics come from our website platform and are used in aggregate — we’re looking at trends, not following individuals around the web. We don’t run third-party advertising trackers.
05 Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your information. We share it only with the trusted services that help us run the shop, and only so they can do their job:
- Our website & commerce platform, which hosts the site and processes orders.
- Our payment provider, which securely handles your payment.
- Our email tool, which sends our letters and order updates.
- Shipping carriers, which need your address to deliver your order.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or customers. That’s it.
06 How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as we need them for accounting, tax, and warranty reasons, and your newsletter details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. When we no longer need something, we remove it.
07 Keeping it safe
We use reputable providers with industry-standard security, and we limit who can access your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with the care we’d want for our own.
08 If you’re in the EU (GDPR)
Because we ship to the Czech Republic, customers in the European Union have specific rights over their data. Our legal bases for using your information are: performing our contract with you (fulfilling orders), your consent (our letters and quiz), and our legitimate interests (running and improving the shop).
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, to object to certain uses, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@imperfectionist.beauty. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. When we send your data outside the EU (for example, to our US-based providers), we rely on recognized safeguards for that transfer.
09 If you’re in California (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. Exercising these rights won’t change the price you pay or the service you get. 10 Children
Our products and site are meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we’ll delete it.
11 Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page as the business grows or the law changes, and we’ll revise the “last updated” date at the top when we do. Meaningful changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
