Return and Refund Policy — The ImperfectionisT

At The Imperfectionist, we believe beauty should be real and kind.

If something you ordered is not what you expected, we will do our best to make it right.

1. If You Change Your Mind

We understand that sometimes a shade looks different on your skin than it did online.

If your product is unused, unopened, and in its original packaging, you can start a return within 14 days of receiving it.

Because we create products that are meant to be used close to the skin, we cannot accept returns of opened or used items for safety and hygiene reasons.

Thank you for understanding and helping us keep everyone safe.

2. If Something Arrived Damaged or Defective

If your order arrives damaged or not working as it should, we sincerely apologize.

Email hello@theimperfectionist.beauty within 5 days of delivery and include:

  • Your order number

  • A clear photo of the problem showing the issue

We cover:

• Damaged or missing items (product arrives broken, cracked, shattered, or missing).

• Wrong item received

Please note that we’re unable to replace or refund products due to personal preferences such as color or texture.

Once we review your message, you’ll have a few options:

  • Free replacement: We’ll ship a new item at no cost to you (limit to 1 replacement per order).

  • Partial refund (60% of the original price): If you’d rather not receive a replacement, we can refund part of the product price.

  • Full store credit: For loyal customers and special cases, we may offer a full credit so you can choose another shade — on us.

This helps us stay sustainable while still taking good care of you. We hope you’ll give us another chance in the future.

Please note that each piece is handmade and may have minor visual imperfections that do not affect performance.

3. How to Start a Return

  1. Email hello@theimperfectionist.beauty and tell us your order number and reason for return.

  2. We will reply with a Return Authorization Number and the next steps.

  3. Pack the item carefully and ship it with a trackable service.

If the return is not due to damage or defect, return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.

We are a small brand and truly appreciate your understanding.

4. Refund Timing

After we receive and inspect your return, we will process your refund within 5 to 7 business days.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method, but please note that banks may take a few extra days to show the amount on your account.

Shipping fees are refunded only if the return is due to our mistake or a damaged product.

5. Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges at the moment.

If you want a different product or shade, please return your original unused item if eligible and place a new order once your refund is processed.

6. Cancellations

You can cancel your order within 24 hours as long as it has not shipped yet.

If the order has already shipped, you can request a return following this policy.

7. Final Sale Items

The following cannot be returned or refunded:

  • Opened or used products

  • Gift cards

  • Limited edition or promotional items marked as Final Sale

  • Custom or personalized products

We will always mark these items clearly before you purchase them.

8. About Your Rights

We follow the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act (MGL Chapter 93A).

If a product is defective or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.

This policy does not limit any of your rights under state or federal law.
